2011 - The year of the Flood

On the Wednesday before the annual tractor show in Mason we drove some of our tractors over to the grounds.  That night we had a near record amount of rainfall after a long period of no precipitation.  Thursday at work i got a call from my dad to go home and change into nasty clothes and come to the grounds.  I arrived to see my tractors in the middle of a lake!  We set up camp at a low spot and all the rain collected where we were.  The water had almost completely submerged the small tractors, but had gone down overnight and morning to where the photos are here.  We towed them out, I dried them out, changing all fluids, and got all but one running for the show.  When the weekend was over I used my son's Broadmoor to tow home the 2110, which never ran again.  But the Landlord 101, the Broadmoor and the Yeoman 616 were running for the show.  I also got to meet two guys from a Simplicity tractor blog that have been more than useful and friendly in the Simplicity community.

2011 - A better use for the rear weight

A great place to stand during a ride!

2011 - Alex trying the rear weight on his Broadmoor

I found a rear weight for the small frame tractors so I put it on Alex's Broadmoor.  He drove it around and the extra traction proved helpful, if not needed...yet!

2011 - Weedcutting duties with the Landlord 2110

Had to clear some brush with the 2110.  The Simplicity Weedcutter is an awesome attachment.

2011 - Fathers Day Portrait

One of my favorite Father's Day portraits!

2011 - Simplicity Landlord 101 done up!

My favorite tractor, my Landlord 101 with the Carry All Box, dual rear wheels, front weight and exhaust stack!  The kids loved riding around in this one!

2011 - A little too early to break ground

Tried to do some rototilling with the Landlord 2110, but early April was still too muddy!!

2011 - My Sovereign 7016 becomes a 7012

Due to a knock that developed I pulled the engine on the Sovereign and upon inspection saw the damage below.  Unfortunately the only reasonably priced replacement engine I could find was a 30 cubic inch B&S, not the 32 cubic inch that was in there.  2 cubic inches doesn't seem like much, but even though I got the 12 horsepower rebuilt it would struggle in tall grass with the 48 inch deck.  I missed the power of the larger engine.

2011 - Helping dad with the 2110

Just cell phone pics of the Landlord 2110 hauling wood for my dad to use in his home.

2011 - Winter work and play with the Landlord 2110

With the loaded rear tires and weights this Simplicity 2110 has tons of traction.  I could easily plow my driver with the mid mount grader blade and haul the kids around on a sled through the yard!

2010 - Landlord a cure for boredom

On a Saturday with nothing to do I had to get the Landlord out and play around with the Carry All Box and dual wheels.  Decided to have a photo shoot, apparently!

2010 - A Fall Ride

Took the kids for a ride behind the Sovereign 7016.  My dad had some nice trails through his woods that we used to take rides on.  Nothing like a nice, cool crisp Michigan fall morning!!

2010 - The many chores of the 2110

The Landlord 2110 was definitely the workhorse of the year.  It had grading land duties, breaking trails and brush mowing with the Weedcutter, mowing the lawn, using the grader blade to plow snow, breaking some ground with the rototiller, putting the haywagon away for the winter with tractors in it to save floor space in the pole barn and even hauling out our arsenal in the Carry All Box for the annual Thanksgiving Day clay skeet shoot!
