A cool anniversary

This past Sunday(September 23, 2018) was the 50th anniversary of Abby's Simplicity 717 Broadmoor originally being purchased.  The original owner bought it on September 23, 1968. So I posted the photo of the original receipt, and a couple photos of it still being used 50 years later and Simplicity commented on it. Pretty cool!

New well area done...for now

Alex and I got the area they had to dig the well and trench the utilities over to the old well leveled and taken care of. I still am not sure what to do with the area, I think I would need to bring in topsoil to plant grass again. But the Simplicity Sovereign and Alex's Simplicity Broadmoor graded the dirt very well, and we had a little fun even in doing it.

Some work and play

Tonight Abby hauled some wood up to our fire pit with her Simplicity Broadmoor 717 and I used the Sovereign to start repairing our yard from the new well. I used the blade to move the dirt pile and get it somewhat even. I have to pack it down and then grade it, so more fun to come!

A little hot

The other evening I mowed the lawn and after about 25 minutes noticed the exhaust was, shall I say, a little warm!  Guess I will have fun seeing what I have going on here!

Helping a neighbor

Our neighbor has not been able to mow his lawn in a while so I asked if I could help out. This gave me a chance to help a neighbor and teach Alex how to mow. Not a bad way to help someone out!

Before and after

Hard to tell from the photo but I had to remove quite a bit of mud and clay.  It was up to 5 inches deep up against the black barrier. Glad that's done.

Done...for now

I finished up cleaning up the area from the all the mud from the new well. I shoveled up as much as I could and used Alex's Simplicity Broadmoor to grade and flatten the rest out. Looks much better. They still have to come trench the new well to the old, so we aren't done yet.
