Let the Big Dog eat!

Haven't used the Simplicity Sovereign yet this year to plow snow, so today we let it do it's thing! Izzy helped me plow the driveway and she did great. She has been my driveway buddy this winter!

Izzy gets to snowblow with the 738

After having the need to snowblow a combined 3 times so far this winter, The Simplicity Broadmoor 738 has been able to play in the snow 3 times in the past three days. This morning Izzy helped me out and did a couple passes. She did great!

Finally snow!!

Finally had enough snow to get a tractor out! I had the engine rebuilt in this 1974 Simplicity Broadmoor 738 last spring and this was a very good test for it, I could hear it working good while going through the thicker stuff. It had no problem and cleared the drive. I even got Alex out there on it a little later to widen what I did in the morning.

Olivia's Simplicity 616 is famous

Simplicity put Olivia's Yeoman 616 on their Facebook page the other day. Pretty cool they wanted to show it off! It definitely gets looks when we use it to pull the large hay wagon around with people in it. And now it's famous!

A little too much...

Had our first snow fall of the season and it was a little too much for the snowblower on the Broadmoor 738. It was really wet snow which just instantly compacted, and the belt on the tractor was not tight enough to fight it. So had to finish with the Sovereign with the blade mounted. We'll give it a shot again once I tighten the belt!

Last minute leaf cleanup

Well, we are supposed to get our first snow tomorrow so I did some last minute cleanup with the Simplicity Yeoman 616 this afternoon. As you can see in the background of the first photo, the Sovereign and Broadmoor 738 are waiting to play in the snow!

Grandma's Simplicity 738

In the previous post we were given a Simplicity 738 by my wife's uncle. It was owned by Mandy's grandma throughout the 1970's, 80's and 90's until she passed away.  Mandy had even used it in high school to mow the lawn. Today she got back on it and mulched some leaves. Since she used to mow with it, I don't think she has any excuses next summer not to mow once in a while!
