A White Christmas

We didn't get much but we got enough snow on Christmas for me to break out Abby's Simplicity Broadmoor 717 and do a little plowing. Probably the last snow plowing of 2020.

 

Olivia sees where it began

 Olivia had a bowling tournament today in Ft Wayne, IN so since we were driving right by it I showed her where 10 years ago I bought her Simplicity Yeoman in Auburn.

Emma's 738 Broadmoor helps with cleanup

 The past couple days Emma's Simplicity 738 Broadmoor has moved wood like a boss! I loaded up the trailer to the point of flattening the tires with at least 25 loads. It then had to pull them up the hill in the backyard and never had a problem. Got some serious seat time with this little beast!

Ready for winter - early!

 Took advantage of the 70 degree weather to finish getting the Sovereign and 717 Broadmoor ready for snow! I may also get the snowblower on Emma's 738 Broadmoor but we'll see how ambitious I am.

The Serf 535 does some work

 Took advantage of the near 70 degree weather today and cleaned up some of the neighbors leaves that fell in my yard! Izzy and Abby came out and gave some support. Made about 8-9 trips, running the tractor for about 45 minutes straight. Gave the Simplicity Serf 535 a nice little workout!

Sovereign ready for winter

 Today I mounted the snowblower on the Sovereign. I got it a little bit ago and will be the first time the Sovereign has one belted up. Can't wait to try it out!

Broadmoor 738 cleans up the yard

 Used the Simplicity Broadmoor 738 to clean up the leaves the morning. It does a really good at mulching up all the leaves. I have to mow twice, once north-side and then east-west but it beats having a vacuum system that I have to store 11 months of the year!

A snowblower for the Sovereign!

 Sunday after a soccer game in Hillsdale Alex and I ran over to Montgomery to pick up this snowblower that will be for my tractor. Still have the smaller one that I will put on one of the kids tractors, but this way there is a backup! Plus, if the kids take their tractors someday I will need this for mine!

Alex uses his Broadmoor

 Alex's Simplicity Broadmoor has not been used since we had our tractor races earlier this year. So with the never ending landscaping chores to do I decided to fire it up and have Alex help me a bit. It started on the third pull and ran great. Made him drive it around a bit to get it good and hot.

5 mowers this year!

 After mowing with the Yeoman 616 yesterday that made it 5 mowers this year!  Along with the Yeoman, Emma's Broadmoor 738, Mandy's Broadmoor 738, Abby's Broadmoor 717 and my Sovereign have all pitched in at some point to mow.

Yeoman gets a little mowing time

 Mowed with Olivia's Simplicity Yeoman 616 yesterday, did the whole front yard so got it good and hot. It has been a while since this one was used to mow!

More tree fun!

 I got this nice wagon for the kids to haul people around with at home and at shows. But it has been extremely useful hauling odd and large sized items often! Here is another large tree branch that fell the other day getting taken care of in one load by the Sovereign.

A good/bad day with the Sovereign

 Sunday I got to use my favorite attachment on the Sovereign, the Simplicity Weedcutter. The famous and hard to find attachment is so fun to use. I used it to mow down the weeds(some of which had grown to 10 feet!) at the south end of our house. We had ignored them while dealing with other areas of the yard. The tractor and weedcutter worked awesome. However, when I went to start it and put it away it would not start. Looks like it might be the starter or solenoid, which is fairly expensive. So it may be sitting for a little while.

Night mowing

Since it has been extremely hot the past week and there is no relief in sight, I have started mowing later when it is cooler. I am glad I got Emma's Broadmoor 738 up and running as it has headlights to see where I have mowed!

Cleaning up stumps

Last week we had a very large tree taken down and several stumps removed. Olivia asked me to fire up her Yeoman 616 and hook up the trailer to it so she could start cleaning up the chips from one of the stumps. Ended up using the Broadmoor 717 for a bit when Izzy and Abby wanted to join in. Later, Mandy got her Broadmoor 738 out and helped too. The guys cutting down the tree had fun watching the kids on their tractors cleaning up!

Storm cleanup with the 515, 616 & 717

Yesterday we had a pretty good storm come through that dropped quite a few limbs on the ground. So today Abby used her Broadmoor 717, Izzy used her Serf 515 and their friend Brooke used Olivia's Yeoman 616 to help me do cleanup. 

Broadmoor 717 gets a turn

With all the yard chores around here it isn't hard to 'share the wealth' with work. So Abby's Simplicity 717 helped me with pond cleaning duties. Definitely not the most glamorous but it has to be done!

The Sovereign and 616 get some work

This time the Sovereign got some help with the tree cleanup from Olivia's Yeoman 616. These tractors are really helping me clean up the yard!
